Pregnancy is an absolute blessing and a wonderfully special time, but it can also be really rough on your body. That’s why it’s so important to practice self-care during pregnancy. You need to take care of your body so that your body can take care of the baby growing inside of you.
“Fear not,” said the angel to the shepherds in the field. “Be strong and courageous,” said the Lord to David. “Peace I leave with you,” said Jesus to His disciples. God calls us to a calmness, a peace, and yet all too often, we choose chaos and fear. I’ve seen it far too much in America over the past few months. When the presidential election was looming back in November, I felt a complete peace. When Donald Trump was elected, that peace stayed. And as he is inaugurated and our nation begins to change, I still feel a peace. Why? Because I know it’s all gonna be okay.
I love the holiday season! We spend time with family, experience the wonder of Christmastime, and eat lots of good food! LOTS OF FOOD. With Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s all within six weeks of each other, I understand why people always set the resolution of getting back in shape and eating right. There is so much food available during the holiday season, and most of it isn’t healthy. Pies, cookies, cakes, and popcorn top my list of favorite holiday treats. Much to my body’s despair, I also don’t have much time to exercise during the holiday season (plus, it’s COLD). So needless to say, it can be hard to drag myself back to my healthy routines after the holidays are over. But don’t despair! It’s not impossible! We can do this together! I’m going to walk you through some simple ways to get back to healthy after the holidays!
At the beginning of 2016, I created an insane challenge for myself: go 365 days without buying clothes (although technically, it was 366 since it was a leap year. Bonus points.). As I’ve said before, I’m not a new year’s resolutions kind of person, and I don’t generally create challenges like this for myself. I like myself the way I am, and unless God makes it clear as day, I don’t see a need for big changes in my life. So why did I go 365 days without buying clothes? How did I do it? What did I learn? Keep reading for those answers!
A new year is full of new dreams, new goals, and new adventures! Though each adventure has its own beginnings, one thing that each of them must have in common is starting them with prayer and Scripture.
I’ve never been a New Year’s Resolutions kind of person. I tried calling them goals one year; I set 3 goals, accomplished 1, and threw the paper away sometime around June. 😉 As I was thinking about the coming year, one that will be filled with new adventures and excitement, I came across an idea that I like much better than resolutions: a focus word of the year. After talking to my husband and praying over it, we chose a word for 2017: intentional. Let me tell you a little bit about why we chose this word, how we’ll live it out, and how you can join us in living intentional in 2017!

Ilove Christmas! There are not enough songs and emojis and happy words to describe the joy in my heart during this sweet season. Christ has come to redeem us, and my heart is so full. Though I love literally everything about Christmastime, one of my favorite things is decorating! Lights on the house, ornaments on the tree, nativities everywhere you turn; it is just simply magical. But many of you are like me, which means you’re on a budget and can’t go spend hundreds of dollars at Hobby Lobby to deck out your house for the holiday season. But as the angel said to Joseph, “Fear not!” 😉 It is absolutely possible to transform your home for the holidays, even when you’re on a budget!
It is OFFICIALLY the Christmas season!!! 🙂 (I’ve been celebrating since the beginning of November, but don’t mind me.) 😉 Every week leading up to Christmas, I’ll be sharing a gift guide for a certain group of people (click here to see all the gift guides). All of us seem to have a few people that stump us every year, so I hope these gift guides will help you figure out what to get those people in your life! This week, I’ve got a special one up my sleeve; it’s a gift guide: for the whole family! 🙂
