Our Favorite Christian Shows For Kids

May 15, 2020

Anybody else tired of turning on a new show for your kiddo, just to see that it’s obnoxious, filled with a socio-political agenda, or simply lacking in value? While TV and movies aren’t our go-to in parenting, it’s certainly part of most of our lives. That’s why we want to share some of our favorite Christian shows your kids will love! These shows are clean, non-obnoxious, and best of all, they teach our kids about Jesus!

Owlegories

Our Favorite Christian Shows For Kids

Owlegories is an animated series that follows a group of student owls as they travel on adventures learning about nature, faith, and God. It’s a cute way to introduce kids to biblical concepts such as the fruit of the spirit, the lamb of God, and more. I also love that the episodes are only around 15 minutes long – a great way to get a little teaching in without vegging in front of a screen for hours.

You can watch Owlegories with an Amazon Prime membership (not a member? Sign up here!). There are also additional episodes available digitally here or on DVD here.

Little Image-Bearers

Our Favorite Christian Shows For Kids

Little Image-Bearers is a faith-based children’s show designed for children ages 2-10. Each episode includes a unique item to explore, a local visit relating to that item, a simple puppet pretend story, and a fun “try it yourself” project, all pointing towards a biblical concept discussed at the end. Lessons include intrinsic value, self-worth, aiming for the mark that God has set before us, and more. Each episode is approximately 15 minutes long.

You can purchase season 1 digitally here or on DVD here.

The Torchlighters: Heroes Of The Faith

Our Favorite Christian Shows For Kids

The Torchlighters is a Christian animated video series for kids ages 8-12 that shares true stories of heroes of our faith. Torchlighter heroes are men, women, and children who respond to God’s call to live a life of whole-hearted commitment to Jesus, no matter the cost. Each episode is around 30 minutes long.

We’ve watched this show with our 2 year old and she enjoyed it, but it would definitely mean more for older children.

You can watch The Torchlighters digitally here with an Amazon Prime membership (not a member? Sign up here!). The episodes are also available on DVD here.

Mr. Brandon’s Block

Our Favorite Christian Shows For Kids

Mr. Brandon’s Block is the new show on the block (get it? 😂). It features songs written and sung by Mr. Brandon, special guests, science experiments, and adventure stories about a dog named Levi. The purpose of the show is to help kids with self-esteem, their feelings, relationships, difficult subject matters, and balancing technology in today’s world. This show runs about 23 minutes in length.

Mr. Brandon’s Block currently has a pilot episode available on YouTube and is awaiting funding for the rest of season 1. You can watch Episode 1 here and follow along with their journey here.

What’s In The Bible?

Our Favorite Christian Shows For Kids

What’s In The Bible? is made by VeggieTales creator Phil Vischer. It’s a 13-part series centered around anchorman Buck Denver and his friends, who guide your family through the entire Bible! Journey with this musical crew as they find answers to tough questions like “who wrote the Bible?” and “what is salvation?” Episodes of this show are a bit longer at almost an hour each.

You can rent the episodes digitally here or purchase them on DVD here.

Mister Roger’s Neighborhood

Our Favorite Christian Shows For Kids

Though Mister Rogers rarely, if ever, speaks directly to faith in God, the lessons that he teaches are undeniably faith-based. This show will always be one of our favorites because of its calm nature, fun activities, and kindness shown by the host and guests.

You can watch Mister Roger’s Neighborhood with an Amazon Prime membership (not a member? Sign up here!). There are also additional episodes available digitally here or on DVD here.

Though there are many options out there, these are some of our favorite Christian shows for kids. They are clean and inviting, yet display the truth of the Bible in a way that really reaches the hearts of children. If you haven’t seen all of them, make sure you check them out soon!
