What I’m Thankful For (Happy Thanksgiving!)

I’m a list maker. I love lists. I have a list of blog posts that are coming, a list of baby items that we need, a to-do list for the day and the week, but somehow, I’ve never been the person to make a thankful list. To be honest, it seemed ridiculous; I know what I’m thankful for, so why do I need a list? But this year, my heart is just too full. It’s bursting with joy and thankfulness, and I just can’t keep it inside. So for the first time ever, here is what I’m thankful for.

Why The Election Doesn’t Scare Me

On November 8, 2016, we will elect the 45th president of the United States of America. The majority of America feels like neither major party candidate is fit for the job. Many of our rights are in jeopardy, and our presidential choice will absolutely determine the future of this nation. The next four years could be some of the worst in our history. And yet, I’m not afraid. I should be afraid. It makes sense to be afraid. But still, I can’t be afraid. Allow me to explain why the election doesn’t scare me.

8 Ways To Make Memories This Fall

Fall is one of my favorite times of the year, second only to Christmas. The weather is beautiful, people are out and about, and families get to come together and spend time with each other. Caleb and I both come from big families, and we love being able to spend time with them. Fall is also the perfect time to make memories, but so often we get stuck in a rut of just staying home and watching Netflix (guilty). To motivate myself, and hopefully my readers, to get out and enjoy the season, I’ve come up with 8 ways to make memories this fall!

Are Your Devotionals Actually Distracting You From God?

Jesus CallingMy Utmost For His Highest. Anything by Beth Moore. They’re devotionals that almost all of us have at least one copy of on our night stand, in our book case, or somewhere on our Kindle. Devotional books are meant to encourage you and help you grow deeper in God’s Word. They’re wonderful; they really are. But I see so many women who dive into their devotional books first thing every morning, soaking up every word, but rarely open their Bible. Is that what God is calling us to? I don’t believe so; I believe He has so much more for us! Are your devotionals actually distracting you from God? To find out, here are some questions to ask yourself.

The Perfect Way To Make Your Spouse Feel Appreciated Every Day

Caleb and I have been married for a little over 6 months. Time has flown by and it has been an absolutely wonderful adventure. Time and again, I’ve heard people say that marriage is hard, and I disagree. But one thing that I do think is difficult is remembering to tell your spouse how much you appreciate them. Sure, they know you love them, and that’s a vital part of marriage. But do they know how much you like them? How great you think they are? How much you appreciate them? Maybe not, and it can be easy to forget to tell them, especially in the midst of a busy season. But after much thought, I’ve come up with the perfect way to make your spouse feel appreciated every day.
