13 Verses To Pray Over The New Year

Welcome to 2017! It’s a new year, full of new dreams, new goals, and new adventures! 🙂 I started many new adventures in 2016: marriage, homemaking, pregnancy, and home-ownership, just to name a few. Though each adventure had its own beginnings, one thing that each of them had in common was that we started them with prayer and Scripture, and I believe that is what made each of them wonderful. To start 2017 in the best way, let’s follow the lead of our 2016 adventures and start it with prayer and Scripture. I want to share with you 13 verses to pray over the new year.

13 Verses To Pray Over The New Year

A common theme in Scripture is that of newness. When we are saved, God makes us new, and His grace is constantly renewing us as we live our lives in tune with the Spirit. As we celebrate the start of this new year, my heart has been reminded again and again of new beginnings and the excitement and promises that come with each one. The following 13 scriptures are ones that have touched my heart, and I hope they will do the same for you. I encourage you to set aside a few minutes and go through these verses, praying each one over you, your family, and your life in the coming year. God has new and exciting plans for you this year, friend, and I pray that He will reveal them to your heart and that you will pursue them, and Him, with utmost passion and excitement. 🙂

My husband and I already had a really tough start to our new year because of some bad news we received a few days ago, so we’re feeling pretty wiped, but thankful for these reminders and that God exists!
