It’s back to school time! Pray these verses over your kids and your school year, and let God take care of the rest.

I grew up in an education family. 3 out of my 4 grandparents were teachers, both of my parents still teach, and my 2 brothers are teachers and coaches, as well. Before I became a stay-at-home-mom, I taught for 2 years. Education is near and dear to my heart.
Every year, before we would leave for the first day of school, we would gather as a family and pray over the school year. It was a special time for us and I believe that’s what helped us to be a light for Christ in our school years.
Now, as a mom whose kiddo will be starting school in a few years, I realize the importance of prayer and God’s Word in her life. These are verses that I want to start praying for her now, for all the years ahead.
I encourage you to memorize these scriptures, write them down, put them on sticky notes, even tuck them into your child’s lunch box. Saturate your school year in God’s Word!
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.” – Colossians 3:23
When we work our hardest, God is glorified, even when we are not as successful as we would like to be.
“Be still, and know that I am God.” – Psalm 46:10
No matter what, God is good and He is on the throne. When school is overwhelming, we can turn to God, be still in His presence, and rest in His peace.
“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!” – Philippians 4:4
God is good! We can always rejoice in the Lord, knowing that He loves us and is for us!
“The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.” – Exodus 14:14
When the trials come, and they will, we don’t have to rely on our strength. God will fight for us, if we will choose to be still and let Him work.
“Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, ‘children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.’ Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky.” – Philippians 2:14
This was a big reminder for me when I was in school. We are called to be lights in this dark world, and God calls us to become bright by not grumbling or arguing. What a great reminder to put on a smile! 🙂
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” – Proverbs 3:5-6
God is the best leader, and He is always in control. Trust Him, submit to Him, and He will lead you where you need to go.
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” – 2 Timothy 1:7
We don’t need to be afraid, because God has equipped and empowered us for everything we will go through. With HIS power, HIS love, and HIS sound mind, we can face the world!
“And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” – Micah 6:8
God doesn’t ask much of us. He simply wants us to walk with Him, act right, and live out His mercy. If we seek His heart, these come easily.
“Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up.” – Proverbs 12:25
Don’t worry about anything! Anxiety just wears you down! Instead, focus on God and share His love, joy, and kindness with others.
“And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment. And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” – Mark 12:30-31
Love God and love people. There is no greater calling in life.
