About a month ago, I introduced DIY Wednesday with a post about transforming a boring old dresser into a fabulous entertainment center. It was a big hit, so here I am again this month, with DIY Wednesday: String Art! I got into string art a few years ago (thanks to Pinterest), but I was not successful in the least! Now, it’s one of my favorite crafts to do and I love the way it turns out! Keep reading to see how I do it and why I love it! 🙂
It’s back to school time! Pray these verses over your kids and your school year, and let God take care of the rest.
Look at you! You graduated high school; congratulations! You had an awesome summer of freedom, you attended new student orientation, you have the greatest roommate and no classes before 10 AM, so you’re ready to take on college. You feel unstoppable, like the world is at your fingertips. And in many ways, that is true.
You will love college. You will find your people and your major, your favorite spots in the library, the greatest intramurals. You will figure out which days the caf is not worth it, and which restaurants in the student center will make you sick every time. (Why did Chinese food on a college campus seem like a good idea?)
But there’s something I need you to remember. This is, and I’m risking a cliche here, the beginning of the rest of your life. Start it with Christ as the foundation, or it will crumble. Here is a letter, from my heart to yours.
Life is hard, and it’s far too easy to focus on the negative aspects of it. Today, it’s easier for me to complain about an upset stomach than it is to be thankful for the groceries that we can afford. But I heard a message on the radio the other day about finding the awesome in every situation, and I love that thought! God has given us awesome lives, and we need to focus on that instead of our problems. Since that’s easier said than done, let’s look at how we can find the awesome in every situation!
Christians, our priorities are messed up. I say “our” because I’m a part of it, too. I am not immune. We prioritize movies, TV shows, and music over our faith. I’m not talking about the time that we spend on those as opposed to the time we invest in our faith, because I think that’s another post for another day, but I’m talking about the entertainment choices that we make. Friends, listen up. It is time for us to start prioritizing faith over entertainment.
Here’s a challenge for you. Take a moment, and think of all the people that you know that don’t have Netflix. It’s not very many, is it? It seems like everyone and their dog (literally) has Netflix these days. We have it, and we watch it pretty regularly (y’all, FIXER UPPER IS ON NETFLIX). But why am I talking about this? What can bloggers learn from Netflix? A lot. Netflix’s view of their customers, their desire to share and produce great content, and their recognition of their place in the media world is virtually unmatched in any business, organization, or company today. I think we have a lot to learn from them, so let’s jump right in.

Living healthy isn’t just about eating right or drinking water. It isn’t just about exercising. It isn’t just about getting enough sleep, or having the perfect FitBit, or anything like that. It’s a whole lifestyle change! That sounds intimidating, and living a healthy lifestyle can seem difficult, especially in our fast-food, Netflix-binging, too-many-delicious-desserts-on-Pinterest society. But I’m here to tell you that it’s not! There are so many little ways to make your habits healthier, at little inconvenience to you!
Today, I’m going to share with you some of my favorite ways to lead a healthy lifestyle, along with some advice from my awesome blogging friends! I’m also going to share some (easy) recipes with you that will make your meals more delicious AND healthier, and we’ll finish up with a few apps and products to help you with your new or ongoing healthy lifestyle. 🙂
